Final Girls & Mother Wounds: Healing What Raised Us
Motherhood in horror isn’t always nurturing… and sometimes, it hits closer to home than we expect.
Join the Horror Community Foundation for a special post Mother’s Day workshop exploring the concept of the mother wound through the lens of horror films. Using iconic characters from horror films we’ll unpack how fear, control, protection, grief, and emotional absence can shape the way we move through the world.
This guided support-style workshop blends film clips, reflective prompts, and open discussion to explore the lasting impact of our upbringing while focusing on healing, self-awareness, and personal choice.
This is not about blaming our mothers. It’s about understanding what we experienced, how it shaped us, and how we can move forward with intention.
Whether your relationship with your mother is loving, complicated, distant, or unresolved, this space is designed to meet you where you are.
